Wolfe, Dodson Earn State Wrestling Crowns

Two local wrestlers won state titles Saturday at the state wrestling tournament in Omaha.  Colton Wolfe of Columbus High and Marcus Dodson of Scotus are state champs after winning all four of their matches at the three-day event.

For Wolfe, the state crown in the 195-pound division of Class A was his second in three years and it capped a 51-0 junior season.

Dodson, a senior who went 53-1 this season, won the 160-pound division in Class B.  It was his first title after earning medals in each of the last three years.

Columbus finished third in Class A, while Scotus took fifth in Class B. Shamrocks senior Jake Bos lost in the B195 finals match to Schuyler senior Arturo Chavez, who claimed his first state title.  As a team, the Warriors tied for 13th.
