Wednesday is national signing day for college football teams and Nebraska’s 2016 recruiting class made a key addition on Tuesday. California defensive back Lamar Jackson announced in an online video that he’s signing with the Huskers.
Jackson is rated as a four-star recruit by three of the four recruiting services. He is Rivals’ number-one safety in the nation, but he’s expected to start his NU career at cornerback.
Nebraska also received a pledge Tuesday from tight end David Engelhaupt of Norfolk Catholic.
Husker football broadcasters Greg Sharpe and Lane Grindle will host a Signing Day Special from Memorial Stadium that is offered free on Huskers.com Wednesday, beginning at 8 a.m.
