Nebraska Could Allow Underage Tobacco Stings Under New Bill

LINCOLN- Nebraska could allow underage tobacco stings with buyers as young as 14 years old under a new bill in the Legislature.

Senator Sue Crawford introduced a measure that would let youths between 14 and 18 years old work with police or private contractors on licensee-organized, self-compliance checks. Underage buyers could only participate if they are an employee, volunteer or intern with local law enforcement, the Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or a licensee.

The bill would prohibit the underage buyer from using the product.
