79 Year Old Norfolk Man Has Been Hospitalized After Being Trapped Under Tractor

NORFOLK- A 79-year-old Norfolk man has been hospitalized after being rescued from beneath a tractor.

Longin Karel was pinned by the tractor after it was struck by a car around 8:30 Thursday morning on Highway 275, about nine miles east of Norfolk. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says the westbound tractor was pulling a mower when it was hit by the westbound car. The impact caused the tractor to tip over and trap Karel. Once freed, Karel was flown to a hospital in Sioux City.

Unger says the driver of the car, 21-year-old Erica Pilger, was taken to a Norfolk hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The accident is being investigated.

Did he have a slow moving sign on the tractor ?

All tractors are slow. Dollars to donuts the vehicle driver was looking at phone or monkeying with the radio.
