A 19-year-old student convicted of making bomb threats to the University of Nebraska at Kearney has been given probation and jail time.
Matthew Skinner of Ogallala was sentenced in Buffalo County Court to 90 days in jail and two years of probation. Skinner pleaded guilty to attempted threat to use or place a bomb. Prosecutors lowered the original felony charge to a misdemeanor in exchange for Skinner’s plea.
Anonymous threats were posted last September against a residence hall, another building and a library.
