World Champion Team Roper to NCTA

Curtis, Neb. – Two-time world champion team roper Walt Woodard is coming to Nebraska for three days of heading, heeling and horsemanship.

The Stephenville, Texas professional team roper and instructor won world team roping championships in heeling in 1981 and 2007.

Woodard’s instruction for team ropers will span November 7, 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the indoor arena on the University of Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture campus in Curtis.

The clinic is hosted by the NCTA Rodeo Team, and advance registrations are filled, said Bridger Chytka, NCTA rodeo coach and animal professor.

“Our students and team ropers in the region have an excellent opportunity for first-hand coaching and instruction by a world champion,” Chytka said. “The rodeo team is looking forward to hosting ropers for a terrific trio of days in the NCTA arena.”

Individuals who wish to visit the clinic or monitor part of the activities are welcome to stop by the NCTA campus. Information is available from Chytka at 308-367-5284, or e-mail bchytka2@unl.edu.
